Cross dimension / PCD
When you need new or used rims for your car, there are a few different factors that you need to keep an eye on. One of them is the PCD, which you can read more about here on the page, as well as how it is calculated.
Cross dimension is one of the important factors when it comes to rims for your car. The cross dimension, also called PCD, bolt holes, bolt spacing, determines whether the holes on the rims fit your car.
In the vast majority of cases, the crossword puzzle is written as a number, "x" and three more numbers.
For example 5x112
Here the first number before the "x" means that the rims have five holes and the last three numbers mean that the five holes have a circle diameter of 112
Most of the time, the cross measurement is written/stamped inside the rim well, but it is also often found that either the text has worn away or it never existed.
You can therefore use the technique below to find out what the cross measurement is on your rims.
4 hole rims

When the rims have four holes for bolts/nuts, the calculation should be done as follows:
Measure the distance from the center of one hole to the center of the opposite hole, as shown in the picture. Read the distance in mm.
If the distance is 108mm, then the cross measurement will be:
4x108 4/108 4*108
3 5 or 6 hole rims

When the rims have either 3, 5 or 6 holes, the above calculation technique cannot be used, but instead the calculation must be done as follows:
Measure the distance from the outermost point of one hole to the start of the hole next to it, as shown in the picture. Read the distance in mm. For example, the distance is 65.8mm
- For rims with 3 holes: Multiply the distance by 1.1540 = 65.8mm*1.1540 = Cross measurement 3x76
- For rims with 5 holes: Multiply the distance by 1.7012 = 65.8mm*1.7012 = Cross dimension 5x112
- For rims with 6 holes: Multiply the distance by 2.00 = 65.8mm*2.00 = Cross dimension 6x131.6
